CONFIRMATION, YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS

HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITES

The High school youth program is based on the mission of the church, “to teach, sanctify and serve”. The activities are based on this mission with the love of Jesus as the focal point. During the high school years our program is designed to develop a deeper relationship with Christ. The program includes mass, scripture study, praise and worship, community service projects, conferences, family and social events, guest speakers and church community gatherings. Another important aspect of the program is liturgical ministry training. During the high school years the Sacrament of Confirmation is encouraged.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

The middle school youth program is designed to share Jesus’ love through everyday living. The mission of the church is to teach, sanctify and serve. The youth program is based on this. Youth are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the program. The components include scripture study, community service, praise and worship, family, and social functions. All youth entering 6th grade through 8th grade are invited to attend. During these years formal sacrament classes are available.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

The Confirmation program is a readiness program for high school youth between the ages of 15-18. All those preparing for Confirmation are expected to seek a deeper individual relationship with God, through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The program consists of eight mini courses, weekly fellowship nights, community service and a retreat in the first and second year. These classes and activities may be accomplished at the candidates pace and in as little as 2 years. Throughout the year, field trips are offered as well. . Registration begins in June through the Youth Ministry Office.

YOUNG ADULTS ACTIVITIES

The desire of the young adult group is to build a close community of Catholic Adults to share the love of Jesus through liturgy, retreats, community service projects, and social activities. All young adults between the ages of 18-25 are encouraged to join a young adult group. The Diocesan Office of Young Adults has a list of current group meetings and activities in the San Diego area.
