CONSTRUCTION ZONE Volume 2 (Jan 7th, 2011)

Since our initial announcement a lot of hard work has happen and now it is reality. For those fortunate to have shared the experience and blessings of the building corners by Bishop Brom. on Jun 26th, 2010 with some of our guests were among the 100 plus parishioners, family , friends, including our very own City of Chula Vista Mayor Cox, former Councilmember Patti Davis, Bill Hearne, Hearne Corp., Mr. Jim Hunt-Parishioner, Bennett & Katharine Lord, Lord  Architectural and our own Knights of Columbus, Color Core. *Ceremonial Shovels are for sale at the Parish Office $100.00

It’s difficult to envision the progress of the Parish Hall from the sidewalk as you attend mass services. The current completions to date are 95% Demo, 60% underground utilities, 65% paving & concrete, 40% overall in buildings, 45% infrastructure installed.  In the next several months, barring rain, more visual identifiers will take place as the parish roof truss is established.

The New Year is here and so will be our new buildings. We were able to get the children back into school on time, after the summer break with a fresh new look. In order to be self sufficient the school is developing a preschool program opening in September 2011 and is taking applications now. Also under consideration is upper class expansion(s). Be sure to contact the School Office for more details and early registration.

We recently filed our project with the US Green Building Council, currently the only project in the Diocese of San Diego with LEED certification and it is not easy to attain. What that means is that we are doing our part for the environment through energy conservation and we are ahead of our time.

We will be posting progress photos on the web page, so be sure to visit and be proud of what your contributions have made possible.  However, our mission in building Gods House would not be complete without a new church. We have looked into a refurbishing or expansion of the existing building.
